About Us

Founded in 2022, Community Tutors Philadelphia is a student-led, online tutoring program created by high school students across the city. Our mission is to increase educational access by connecting high school tutors with middle school tutees for free, once-a-week virtual tutoring sessions.

The impact of our program is made possible by the dedication of our passionate tutors and the ongoing support of the families and students we serve. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected learning community—one session at a time.

Community Tutors Philadelphia was founded with one main goal in mind: to increase access to quality education throughout the city of Philadelphia. For years, decades even, our city's education system has failed to serve those who need it most. Community Tutors Philadelphia aims to strengthen the city of Philadelphia, even if just in our own small way.

Our Vision

Community Tutors as an organization envisions a Philadelphia that supports one another; we envision a future where high schoolers and middle schoolers from around our city come together, to not only help each other, but to help their city -- their community. A community that is not only hopeful for a better future, but a community that actively attempts to make the future better for all.
