Improving Access to Quality Education Across Philadelphia
WHAT WE DO
Community Tutors is a Philadelphia-based organization led by high school students from across the city that seeks to improve access to quality education through tutoring. Community Tutors is a hub that pairs high school tutors with elementary and middle school tutees within the city of Philadelphia. Our program is completely free and online.
During the 2023-2024 school year, our program was home to more than 200+ tutors and tutees from 35+ schools in the Philadelphia area.
High school students can sign up now under the form "Become a Tutor" and K-8 tutees can sign up under the form "Find a Tutor." Tutoring for the 2025-2026 academic school year will begin in October 2025 and run through the end of the academic year.

Where Students Help Students Succeed
One unique aspect of our program is that students are tutored by academically exceptional high school mentors. This kid-to-kid connection fosters a sense of comfort and understanding, allowing children to learn more effectively than in a traditional classroom setting. Over time, we’ve also observed notable improvements in students’ standardized reading and math scores.
